Whenever you go abroad, checking out the local scene is an essential part of the experience. What’s the vibe like in the city? When does this lot call it a night? Why the hell do they drink that? These are the questions that come to mind.

If you’re looking for a bit of travel inspo, have a browse through our list. These are the cities that push the limits unlike anywhere else. Crazy street parties. Marathon festivals. Traditional celebrations. Each selection on this list offers something unique.

These are our Top 10 party cities for 2026.

  • London, United Kingdom
  • Berlin, Germany
  • Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
  • Bangkok, Thailand
  • Chicago, USA
  • Cologne, Germany
  • Amsterdam, Netherlands
  • Barcelona, Spain
  • Nantes, France
  • Copenhagen, Denmark

London, United Kingdom

The Big Smoke is a wild city when the sun goes down. The local music scene is nothing short of iconic. NTS Radio’s East London studio brings the party to the streets of Hackney. For an even bigger street party, Notting Hill Carnival welcomes over a million people across a long August weekend.

Pop-up parties are always going down at Planet Wax and KINDRED–record stores that turn into dance floors. Venue MOT, The Cause, and The Carpet Shop offer up uniquely-London clubbing experiences. And for up-and-coming band’s, The Windmill is the place to be. Whatever you’re looking for, London has it. Trust us.

Berlin, Germany

Yeh, it may be a meme at this point. But Berlin’s late night mischief is no joke. The techno capital of Europe is a playground when it comes to electronic music. On May Day every year, local collectives throw major street parties to celebrate their city.

Local radio station Refuge Worldwide is always hosting hangouts, concerts, and pop-up parties. Want something more hardcore? Clubs like Berghain (heard of it?) and Sisyphos open on Friday night and close on Monday morning. So, if you’re after a weekend long marathon, you won’t find a better spot. Just make sure you’re in all black and don’t even think about smiling.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

No list of party cities can be taken seriously if Rio doesn’t get mentioned. Samba, vibrant costumes, and mad dance moves are everywhere. We’ve already mentioned the world-famous Carnival in our 2026 Street Party Guide.

Beyond that, finding somewhere to let loose is no problem. Soak up the vibes in the shadow of Cristo Redentor, check out the city’s passinho dancers, or find a baile funk party in Rocinha–you won’t regret it.

Bangkok, Thailand

Chaos. Pure freakin’ chaos. That’s the only way to describe Bangkok. The city’s patchwork of party streets, like the famed Khoa San Road and edgy Thonglor, rage all night long. The local electronic music scene has become one of Southeast Asia’s premier spots.

And for the more traditional throwdowns, Songkran is a must. Bringing in Thai New Year, the festival is like one giant water fight throughout the capital’s streets. Madness.

Chicago, USA

Few cities have influenced electronic music like Chicago. The birthplace of footwork and house music, the Windy City has given rise to pioneering producers and DJs. Clubs like Smart Bar continue to fly the flag for ravers, dancers, and movers.

But it doesn’t stop there–Chicago’s DIY, indie, and rock scenes have also played a vital role in the city’s musical identity. Keen to hear more? We interviewed a few of the locals pushing the scene forward to hear what makes their city so special.

Cologne, Germany

If you wanna party in the streets, Cologne is the spot for you. The city’s Carnival takes over for days, filling the sidewalks with wild costumes, dancing, and Kölsch folk culture. It’s not called “the crazy days” for no reason.

If tradition isn’t your bag, you can always dip into the electronic music scene. It’s an electric mix of gritty clubs, bars, and late-night raves that never stop. The 5am crew won’t be disappointed. Intrigued? Check out Techno institution Kompakt’s guide to partying in Cologne. These local legends know exactly how to do it party.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Hedonism, rule-breaking, and naughtiness are three things synonymous with Amsterdam. Its mix of cool clubs and off-the-radar bars offer a lil’ bit of something for everyone. One of our fave spots is murmur–a listening bar that gives proper cosy living room vibes.

Every year, the legendary Dekmantel festival takes place just outside the city. This party is known for bringing the biggest DJs from around the world to town. King’s Day is another celebration that you need to experience. Bring your shades, though–the orange costumes and red lights can be blinding.

Barcelona, Spain

Wild nights, beach parties, and mad festivals are the standard in Barcelona. Dance music is in no short supply in the Catalonian capital. If the weather’s good, be sure to head to La Terrrezza for an open air rave. If you fancy a more intimate clubbing experience, Macarena Club’s 80 capacity dance floor is your best bet.

The city loves a festival too. Primavera Sound and Sónar are always a guaranteed good time. Putting the ‘bar’ in Barcelona, you’re never short of somewhere to drink either. Between the traditional taverns, vermouth bars, and absinthe joints, you better give your liver a warning.

Nantes, France

Nantes is creativity and DIY. In a region known for its underground raves, the city’s local music scene is a melting pot of experimental sounds and styles. Float through the streets and you’ll find open air parties and small festivals.

The local club scene is hard to beat and easily France’s most underrated. Venues like Trempo and Macadam fly the flag for the Breton city. Plus, the locals are always the loudest at the festival campsite.

Copenhagen, Denmark

You know we had to include our hometown. Biased? Maybe. Justified? Hell yeh. If you’re after an ice-cold pilsner, there are thousands of bodegas (lowkey, old school bars) to choose from.

Wanna have a boogie? Head on down to the Meatpacking District or our fave club, Hangaren. Looking for a festival? Distortion’s your best bet, transforming the city into one massive street party. Check out Strøm’s Metro Rave too–this is a one-of-a-kind experience. You might just spot a couple Soundboks while you’re at it.
